You say: "How about the USA. Is there any political risk there? How about the sinking dollar? Is that risk? The USD is going to zero so those investing in that country ought to be wise and get everything they can out of the country."
But if the dollar sinks, costs of a gold miner operating in Nevada or Alaska will be correspondingly less compared to costs in countries with a strong currency, and thus profits will be greater, so why not find good miners in the U.S. (I like MAD.V in Nevada and a few Alaska plays and may yet buy into Slan's Western Goldfields) and invest some money in the U.S., instead of letting your reflexive anti-Americanism keep you out of a good opportunity? (And this isn't said as a super-patriot, just as a comment on relative costs.)
