"But if the dollar sinks, costs of a gold miner operating in Nevada or Alaska will be correspondingly less compared to costs in countries with a strong currency, and thus profits will be greater, so why not find good miners in the U.S."

This is way too vague to respond to.

costs of a Canadian gold miner operating in the US purchasing US assets and labor with Canadian dollars?

If its a US operator in the US then how are profits greater if the currency is falling in purchasing value as the POG rises correspondingly? One can earn more USD from US shares but if they are devalued then only the US investors benefit. Most are listed in Canada so we see the rise in CAD and can't complain about that can we?

I wasn't suggesting that mining shares be divested but a US investor holding......could be anything else besides mining, like GIC's Term deposits, savings or whatever one has that can be moved away from USD into another country and those Americans who are investing in Canadian listed mining shares are doing the right thing. Those who have their money in the bank probably are oblivious to its worsening purchasing power ....ah but they are now finding out, hopefully not too late.

LOL, btw its fashionable to be "anti-america" so I guess I'm fashion forward
