The truth is that people like Bush have stifled the opinions of the scientific community on global warming. To this day, the Bush administration continues to use political influence with the EPA to ensure they delay delay delay on allowing California and other states the ability to regulate transportation emissions. So the truth is that it is the CURRENT powers that are stifling debate. The grass roots are trying to overcome the entrenched powers that be to address the serious issue of global warming and dependence on foreign oil.
