Mannie,

I confess I'm a novice re: currencies, but respect Rogers' opinions enough to research his recommendations as much as I am able.

I remember him pounding the table (figuratively) on CNBC in 1998-99 re: commodities during the height of the tech bubble when commodities were nearing the end of their extended bear market, and the morning guys just mocked him. At the time, I thought he was pretty goofy in his bow tie and with his prim/proper demeanor. He didn't recommend AMZN or QCOM or ARBA or CMRC or even CSCO.

A few years later, I read his commodities book, followed by "Adventure Capitalist" (a great read), opened my eyes a bit (I hope), and figured out that this guy had a better clue than most all of the carnival barkers on Wall Street. His arguments make fundamental sense to me. With all of that said, when he says he's pulling ALL of his capital out of dollar-based assets and buying the Yuan and the Yen, I've got to learn something about those currencies.

Sorry for the long response.
