The "government takeover" would be of the payment system from the insurance companies. Between the streamlining of the system on all sides, and taking out the profit and executive salaries of the health insurance companies, we would save a ton... as they do in a half dozen countries in Europe. This is self evident in the real world. If we paid 10% more or even 20% more than the other systems, you might have an argument. If 2 or even 1 of the other systems were more expensive you might have an argument. But we are talking 100% difference in cost and a grand slam... they all pay much less, no exceptions.
