We don't live in a binary world. We live in a complex society. Unfettered capitalism and deregulating everything would be a bad idea. Giving the state complete control would also be a bad idea.

There are somethings government can do more efficiently than individuals and there are somethings that you don't want in the hands of a government official gone bad.

The founding fathers had it right. You have to have checks and balances. You can't give anyone too much authority. You have to protect the minority.

The United States of America is still an experiment. We are still in the process of development. We still have to find the right balance.
