The stage was set for those fires by the extreme drought in Southern California which is partly caused by global warming It's called the golden state because it's dry and brown - besides the "drought" is what limited the amount of fuel for the fire - if they had had more rain earlier this year the fire would have been even larger due to growth of more brush. The fire was probably caused by arson but driven by the predictable yearly winds. If you think the drought was caused by global warming then you'll be happy to know additional Global Warming will ensure less fuel in future years so this type of fire won't happen again. Three cheers for GW!!!
