CD Associates Announces the Industry's First Affordable DVD Analyzer
IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 9, 1997--CD Associates Inc., the technology leader in the field of disc analysis, announced the delivery of the DVD100MG DVD Analyzer.
The DVD100MG provides complete automated data acquisition and analysis, and can test a full-length DVD-5 in less than 50 minutes.
"Our DVD100MG is the only affordable, advanced production level DVD measurement system available in today's market," stated Carolyn Gross, exec vice president of marketing for CD Associates.
"On Oct. 1 we began shipping the first production units, at the U.S. list price of $65,000. The DVD100MG provides DVD analysis features well beyond those offered by any other system, for less than one-third the cost."
The new analyzer offers a full complement of DVD measurement capabilities, including important physical, analog and digital parameters outlined in Version 1.0 of the DVD specification.
The DVD100MG has a user friendly, intuitive interface similar to CDA's Advanced Measurement CD product line. The system provides a reliable hot-key and mouse-driven operator interface and complete file export capabilities.
The DVD100MG analyzer provides real-time analog, digital, logical and physical measurements and reports PI/PO data (digital errors on disk). Balanced, non-equalized signal outputs are provided for the manufacturing engineer to give a qualitative real-time response monitor for DVD process development.
The CD Associates DVD Jitter Option provides the user both the specified Data-to-Clock and additionally the Data-to-Data ("Effect Length") Jitter response. Buffered signal outputs for EFM+ and PLL clock are provided for interfacing to external Jitter measurement devices.
The DVD100MG Analyzer System is a standalone unit that can be attached to a local area network (LAN). It is a self-contained system, and no laboratory equipment is required to collect data. Incorporated in the analyzer is an industrial computer that has 16MB of RAM, 1GB hard disk, monitor and HP Desk Jet printer. With a few minutes of training, any operator will be capable of managing the system. Testing can begin minutes after delivery. Logical screen menus are easy to learn and operate.
The CDA engineering team is dedicated to providing the most cost- effective, quality products to enhance the development of the DVD process. CD Associates maintains a European office and Asian distribution is handled through a network of sales agents.
