I don't really have a strong opinion on this issue. On the one hand, if the government gets involved with competitive business issues, it tends to lower the rewards for the risk that shareholders take when they provide capital for a company. On the other hand, when companies grow to dominate an industry like Microsoft has, let's face it, there is very little chance for a start-up to compete in the core business, the dominant company tends to become complacent, and innovation slows.

So I have to pass your question to others that have given this more thought and have a stronger opinion. It's not often that I don't have an opinion on anything! What do you think?
