Yes Panther > Tiger was a bigger change.

I was using Panther for a couple of years until August, and now that I'm using Tiger, I don't notice any difference between the two other than Dashboard. Personally, I think Tiger --> Leopard will be a much bigger change. First of all, there's Time Machine and there's QuickLook and CoverFlow. Here, the changes are right up front in the interface. In the case of Panther to Tiger, I think the changes were a lot more subtle and under the hood. Just MHO.
