50% savings isn't in the cards.

We have more expensive doctors, we have a higher expectation of massive expenditure for end of life medicine, we have more litigation (even in states that passed tort reform bills), mor defensive medicine, etc.

And I didn't even mention the marketing department savings, or shareholder relations or.......

You mentioned marketing, and in any case the government would spend money on marketing its program, and explaining things to congress, the public etc. Such reports and explanations, and occasional adjustments are likely to cost more than shareholder relations costs most companies.
