My guess is not so much that these guys are trying to pull a scam, but merely that they are trying to be funny. You know, they probably see the gang on CNBC joking and being jolly, and then figure that hilarious recommendations like this will amuse, entertain, and endear them to the investment community. After all, how can you not love an outfit with such a great sense of humor? (Well, maybe if you discovered that the sell side of the house was selling your shares at fire sale prices to the buy side of the house--however, IMHO, that is not even a remote possibility.) No, far likelier that they are just pulling our legs. Regards, John
