Tony,

Thanks for this interesting sub-$1,000 PC report.

It said very clearly if you don't have the sub-$1,000 PC for the coming X'Mas sales, then, you are dead!

This is the worst nightmare for Intel. Intel was forced to drop the prices (to PB & Compaq) to meet the system-cost-efficient MediaGX challenge in sub-$1,000 PC market. However, it leaded all these smart and expierenced PC buyers bought thes sub-$1,000 PC instead of these expensive $2,000+ PC. It brought down Intel's 3Q ASP significantly!

I have been speculating that the 3Q earnings was so bad and Andy Grove was too embarrassing to pre-announce the lower-than-expected earning quarter after quarter, and decided to make the market uninformed.

My strategy is to own Intel OCT leap put now and to buy in-the-money put on the next Monday.

Fuchi ... who loves Cyrix's innovations
