True Story:
I started learning about stocks and investing over the web about a year ago. Researched, based on fundamentals, and made my first stock pick; PHRX.
I finally set up a broker account a few months later and kept up on PHRX. Saw it was still a good stock, in my line of thinking from what I have learned, and got in at the low of .375. My first ever buy of a stock and first ever pick I researched heavily as I did not want to lose the first time out. I had a predetermined sell I wanted to get and that was .50. A couple of times throughout the year, I think it hit, but I did not get it.
Recently, last couple of months, I have been learning TA to see if it will help me time better as I don't know if I like the wait. I have owned the stock 6 months at the .375 with no movement and I thought it would move at least a little. <g>
Tuesday night I heard about Vector Vest and gave it a whirl. Vector Vest has POOR written all over my first ever stock pick. Of course I didn't feel to happy to have something call my pick a POOR pick. I know I am new,but don't pick on me.
Finally, Wednesday when I woke up, it was at a BID of .50! I looked high and low for about 20 minutes to see if there was some breaking news that caused the spike and I was going to be in the money! Well, no news or some indication of why it was up. Since I got my target, I sold to get out of it.
Later that same night, I went to Vector Vest. It now has a BUY RECOMMENDATION on it! <g> This is weird.
BTW, the stock is now at about .75 and I maybe could have kept it and earned a little more, but since I had a target and it was made and I have had it for 6 months, I thouhgt it was time to let it go.
I bring this story up as the timing is odd. I hear about Vector Vest and this new thread is here, and I wanted to show how the reports can show a sell one day and a buy the next day. What changed? The volume and price definately changed so the calculations in their program take this into account to look hopefully for spikes? Another thing to point out is that although throughout the report it showed POOR on most of the areas, it still has a buy on it now.
