Gillette Plant Operational Update by Evergreen Energy on Mon 29 Oct 2007 01:54 PM MDT | Permanent Link By Kevin Collins, President and CEO
We recently shipped a significant quantity of K-Fuel® from our Ft. Union facility in Gillette, Wyoming. This train is on its way to our Buckeye facility, where it will be blended with an eastern coal, and then shipped to a utility for testing of K-Fuel®. This customer is testing K-Fuel® as a solution to the stringent forthcoming mercury regulations it faces in the state of Pennsylvania.
Over the last several months, Evergreen has been shipping smaller quantities via truck and short train. This was an effort to maximize the reach of our production and to get it to as many customers as possible, for both commercial and test burn purposes.
Recent improvements in plant reliability and consistency have been achieved, which allows us to start shipping larger quantities. In September we embarked upon some major improvements to the plant support systems, focusing on our B processor.
Our technical staff at Ft. Union, who work 24/7 to maximize production at the world’s first coal refinery, were instrumental in getting these upgrades in place. Our yields are higher, and throughput has improved. Now that we have reliable, consistent performance at Ft. Union, we are working to schedule continuous train shipments of K-Fuel® every several weeks to customers. Attachments: Train Loading.jpg (83KB) Posted to: Main Page |
