Office is more a laptop application than a handheld.

Yes, based on the handhelds we have now, but as they evolve more into micro-portables (perhaps with projectable keyboards and displays), Google will be well positioned.

It does bring an interesting question, which is what's to stop people from using laptops on these "free" data airwaves?

Surely airwave access will be tied to specific devices, I'd think.
