Ted, Its not just the environmentalists who are against nuclear power. Its Americans in general who have put the kabosh on more nuke plants. Rightly or wrongly, Chernobyll has had a very strong impact on Americans' perception of nuclear power. Not saying its correct but its the reality. With the scaremongers running amok, and few making couter arguments, is there a reason that people get scared? The leaders of scaremongers were (and in many cases still are) the environmentalists. Check out the web site of GreenPeace: greenpeace.org They are more responsible for the increase of CO2 than anyone I can think of. And, BTW, of Gore really wanted to make an impact on CO2 gasses, he would have repudiated Greenpeace and other environmentalist on the subject of nuclear energy. But he wimped out. Which is one reason he cannot be taken seriously. Joe
