Southern Copper says avoids strikes by 3 unions Wed Oct 31, 2007 6:15pm EDT reuters.com NEW YORK, Oct 31 (Reuters) - Southern Copper Corp (PCU.N: Quote, Profile, Research) said on Wednesday it has avoided strikes after three unions accepted decisions by the Peruvian labor minister. In a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the company said the unions were the Unified Union of Ilo, Unified Union of Cuajone, and the Union of Workers of Toquepala and Annexes.
