Dear Tench: It is not better for everyone when Intel is short because of demand. The consumers are hurt. Either they can't get what they want or they pay more than they wanted. Both are bad from the consumer's POV. AMD would prefer it to be because of poor long term Intel yields. They have the option of using Chartered to boost production to help customers out. Chartered would prefer that reason too. Pete
