Well, it appears you are right, Putin's party will not go.
The new president will, most likely, be a nominee of
"United Russia", which is now the KGB clan. However, there
will be changes. It is highly unlikely that Putin will
preserve his powers. Those will be passed on to the new guy.
And, when there is a new guy in Russia, there is always change,
for better or for worse. Putin could come back again in 2012,
and be the president until 2020. My hope is the KGB rule
will end. We'll see though.
