LOL I got stuck in a traffic jam on my way to Queen Ann and was stopped right across from that stupid statue last week. The Ballard bridge was stuck in the up position, and everyone had to reroute through Fremont. I had the dog in the back of the car and was really tempted to let her out to do her business at the base. -gg- Your story reminds me that when I was a kid we lived in West Seattle and my grandparents lived in Houghton..(I think I've told this story before.) We had to go around the lake to Bothell to get back to the other side of it, and on to Kirkland/Houghton. We would never have dreamed of driving all the way there and all the way back home in one day.
