If I were elected king, I'd have my own plan instituted for illicit drugs.

- no (zero, zip, nada) federal tax money to be expended on stopping the flow of drugs, arrests of drug users, or treatment for drug users

- states, if they so choose, could build glass enclosures in public places, preferably in public schools, for those dying or withdrawing from illicit drug use. Mothers and teachers could take children to those "zoos" to show kids the effects of drug use.

If people want to take drugs after that, let 'em. People should also be allowed to bungee jump off bridges, fly ultralight airplanes, climb cliffs in December, or scale Mt Everest. Dangerous activities are fine, so long as the consequences are understood.

My plan would reduce crime by lowering the cost of drugs, save TONS of money now wasted in the "war on drugs," and leave only the reckless and suicidal as drug users.

Heartless? No, I don't think so. I think it's the most humanitarian way to deal with the problem. Let market forces work.
