OK...I infer from that list that what you are after is a more socialist environment. If that's not correct then please answer the part of my original question about what it is in your mind that makes those countries better.

Dang! You're clever.......you pulled it right out of me without me suspecting!

"They are not socialist countries. They are capitalist countries that take care of their own in a way that we don't. Their wealth is not as concentrated in the hands of the wealthy like it is in this country."

I didn't say they were socialist countries....but they are more socialist than the US and from that I inferred that your "hybrid form of capitalism" is one that has elements of socialism built into it. Right?

Yup.

"You asked me what my ideal was? I told you. However, I am realistic enough to know it would not work in the way the world is set up now. So I looking for a compromise.....a hybrid form of capitalism."

So....your ideal would destroy capitalism but because I pointed out to you that this never works long term you have now backed off to a "hybrid form of capitalism."

Look.......the best economic system in the world so far is capitalism. There is no question of that. Under the grouping of capitalism, I think the nordic countries of Europe as well as Spain, France and Italy do the best job, promoting capitalism while being democratic and caring for their poor. My ideal system would be one where accomplishment is more important that amassing great wealth. If that destroy's capitalism, so be it.

We're making progress here.

Yup. You are an incredible sleuth.
