Hello Rambi,

I'm kind of thinking it's time you dig out one of those quotes from all those Roman scholar's and politicians such as Plutarch and Cisero, to expand on your Emily Dickinson quote.

I actually have a moderately racy vingette from Plutach's Lycurgus of Sparta that evidently made an impression on Alexander Hamilton as told in Ron Chernow's book.

evidently, it was expressed that a couple of very modestly clad young males made use of the flogging of young woman to increase their fertility, as the woman actively believed.

Was surprised to read it, but then again many unexpected tangents and proclivities turn up over time in literture

John
