Whatever works! I could have just been going to my local automobile association and buying no-fee loonie cheques, and in fact do have a large inventory of euro and swissie TCs and small amounts of Brit pounds and Loonie TCs. My main loonie source is Canadian energy stocks.

What I was really interested in--and I think you might be the person to discuss it with--is that Scotiabank will accept gold bullion coins--especially Maple Leafs--and after making sure of authenticity credit your account with the value in Canadia dollars. Or so I understand from their web site.
