"When Medicaid gets underfunded by the politicians, then fewer doctors will take medicaid patients."

Thanks for admitting that the market works. In your opinion, is the answer to blow a bigger hole in the budget or to allow the market to find an answer?

Many doctors make rational decisions not to accept patients they are likely to lose money on. Medicare has reduced reimbursment rates to the point that most doctors cannot see them and cover their costs. I have never heard of a doctor refusing to continue ot see a patient that had insurance and rolls over onto Medicare. They instead don't accept new medicare patients.

OTOH, I know of sine practices that see medicare patients as a profitable segment of their business.
