I agree with J Rector. Whether I am a computer buff or a TV addict,
if I can get my TV viewing from both technologies, but my videophone or free long distance calls only from DMT ADSL or VDSL, then irregardless of other internet services I will dump my present $40/month cable fee and get all the rest from ASDL without much increased cost. As a bonus, you would get other internet content as well. Whether the present baby boomers become computer literate becomes a moot point. And with regards to the Baby Boomers' computer apathy, they will, in the majority, want their kids to become internet savvy, thereby requiring that their homes be online.

These forcasts all stem from the notion that cable, as well as CAP, have insufficient upstream capability for tomorrow's needs.

Put that in your pipe and smoke it :=},
