Maybe the inflation/deflation argument that keeps going back and forth on this board is really about timing. Some are saying that deflation or inflation occurs during the cause and others saying it happens during the effect. In other words the cause of future deflation may be happening now even though we are currently experiencing the effects of past inflation.

So some see inflation and some deflation depending on the approach that you take and what data you look at. Both sides could be correct and just not in synch with understanding each others viewpoints...

But the important thing is to keep an open mind. These are scary times and trying to preserve wealth will take the ability to adapt rapidly to the changing environment. IE getting permanently set in inflation or deflation mode at this time would not be prudent. IMHO
