(Like I was able to point out that Bush and the US Navy now are in favor of the treaty... and that the US stands to forgo hundreds of Billions of dollars - if not far more, in the long run - if we deny ourselves the legal claim the treaty provides for access to, and permission to profit from, mineral and energy resources from the sea floor....)

If you want to stand aside while Russia and China (and Canada and Denmark and Norway, etc.) grab most of the available dough in the 'land rush', that's your choice I suppose.

(But, I'm betting that most Americans want to 'go for the gold'.)
