the google mobile OS is what I was hoping for because right now you have every mobile carrier making their own OS basically, which is a mess. And these guys tend to like to charge for internet service with a fee for access gateway kind of thing and it is angering all the internet companies because this grubbing for pennies among verizon and other carriers is making it so the mobile internet can't take off.

I know I never used the t-mobile internet connect with my old plan, they chaged a lot and the interface was really bad. The iphone is a huge step in the right direction regarding open internet access.

The carriers only had open windows to use before (although some in eu used symbian) so this is a good alternative.

The problem is, google needs to pitch this to carriers who created the pay per access fee model for mobile internet in the first place. Thats the issue.
