those problems were deeper than religion. it was economics.. catholics couldn't own land, get decent jobs etc. a long ago throw back to english rule like in the south. I don't remember any suicide bombers in Ira.

Another major problem was Ira sold their knowledge of bomb making to Arabs and south america.

I think Ira got the message when cheney told them they were going to be labeled terrorists and that helped to convince them to change their ways. Most in Ireland had already labeled them nothing but terrorists already.
