I don't attribute anything to you other than bringing forward very useful data and interpretations -- and for that I think we are all better off and grateful. We face a world that is increasingly harder to comprehend, and data makes us better informed. I make at most a modest contribution -- and it is more to perspective than anything else. My "screaming" caution to the thread is not to allow simplistic notions of the economic prospects for the US economy to muddy our collective ability to read the tea leaves. The muddiest of all is the careless weirdness of references to "deflation" that have nothing to do directly with the meaning of the term deflation, but instead refer to something else entirely. All I am asking is that people speak plainly and look at our economy in a global context. It does not seem like much to ask, given the extraordinary inflationary pressures and risks we now face.
