Generally, I agree. However, they do have a right for specific government funding elements granted on a formula basis, such as school and transportation funding. But the cost and logistics of removing entire communities is daunting.

They have another severe problem... rural energy costs are going thru the roof. When you add it all up, it might make more sense for a lot of those folks to move to larger, more connected communities. And that seems to be gradually happening.

Another option is to move near some of the larger resource development projects on the drawing boards. If some of the proposed mines actually start up, there could be a lot of jobs available in certain areas.
