KLP;

You and I both know that the Government policies are NOT turning the non-radical Muslim against the rest of us. It is their own belief system that is doing that

I absolutely and completely disagree with this statement and it is I suppose the basis for our disagreement. After 9-11 we had the complete support of the entire world, including the Muslim world. They all understood our need to march into Afghanistan and clean up the infection there. Had we concentrated on this mission and given it the dedication of our troops and time, I believe bin Laden would now be history and the Taliban been shoved into cracks of the mountains, never to again be a threat. ......Afghanistan is still not under control and now Pakistan is erupting into another front that the US must dedicate efforts - especially the efforts of government officials. 9% of the people in Pakistan support Bush! We have no control there - but we should. Had we not pissed off the entire Muslim world by going into Iraq, we would be able to help leaders who support us - unfortunately we now are a liability for these leaders. .......Even Iran was helpful and supportive of our original efforts in Afghanistan. No, our policies in Iraq has most definitely turned the Muslim world against us. That is easily seen and supported when one compares the support we had in Muslim nations after 9-11 and now. That support has crashed!

As to the fundamentalist christians; It is the fundamentalist christians via the neocons who marched into Iraq - remember God told Bush to do it. You might not think that an act of terrorism, but more and more of the moderate Muslims in Iraq do. They think we are invading their homeland. ....In this country we did have terrorism from the right - Oklahoma bombing. Any extremist group is capable of the sickness of not being understanding of an others position or beliefs. That is what Dr. Paul understands and why we are doomed for failure in Iraq under the existing paridigm.
