Earlier today I felt as if the decoupling of XAU/HUI from SPX was complete, but now that SPX has breached 1490 we can see that there is still a connection. Paulson's boys are breaking a sweat now. Can they save the day? Whether or not they succeed, they will have injected much liquidity into the system in the process which is of course bearish for the dollar and bullish for gold.
