Several of my interns in Counseling.... were former Nam
vets. They shared a lot of their experiences with me..

They all were or had been on drugs... which is inconsequential to me as they kids...at the time ...loved that the young interns... had smoked weed.. I learned a lot. But what I learned so intensively was that war leaves wounds that no one can see. That the deprivaty and killing is nor normal for the human race... (excepting socio paths like Simpson )and it takes forever if ever to get over the intrinsic damage.

Thank God I was not a man who had to kill. I cannot even go fishing anymore one sport I loved... because I cannot kill the fish... I once excused it that if I ate the fish it was fine.

Thank you for your most empathetic post. By the way... I would love to know how many of the posters on S.I ever even experienced war. The bigget blow hards I suspect never have been in one. Cyndwllr is one whose posts I respect. He is a Viet Vet.
