Royalties, taxes and fund fees all kill...

Mutual fund holders in Canada pay on average 2.25% of NAV. Assuming LT market returns are 8%, the real take should be quoted as 28% of returns(in this example). At least 68% of the funds will under perform the market to boot. Many funds charge more than 2.25% to take your money as well. And all funds charge you whether they make you money or not...

I am in the wrong business.

Eric - appreciate the eye opener on how material and sensitive the royalty structure can be on an operation.
