Government is in the oil biz like Blackbeard in the Carolinas. It is a study in psychology how the victim becomes 'stockholmed' and starts to identify with their captors. They vote them in next time too! You would think being flayed alive would turn the constituency, but they cast their ballots for more salt when the wounds are still fresh. I fail to see how they can believe that more taxes are good for them. Not a single overtaxed person can point to a single nickel ever finding its way back to him. If you simply pointed out that the nickel if it did come back would not have be taken in the first place, it might create an epiphany, but no.. that point is never reached. Alberta is a grease money junky who make heroin addicts look tame. They pointed the finger of shame at PET for the NEP, but then they went one better. The level of royalty is scandalous. Then, PET like they just shrug at the blood letting. I think it is a reaction to creeping foreign ownership of the sands. For the next trick we will get AB voting liberal. They have been working on the west for a while now. It fits, as the west is practially commie anyway, which is easy for a liberal to 'fake'. We can understand how they keep the Atlantic poverty regimes voting liberalis communatis, as when they have been in the sensory deprivation of the prison camp long enough, they believe that being bribed with their own money is totally acceptable.
