A few years after we were married, and I was out of the Marine Corps and employed, we decided to buy one of the portable dish washers. This decision was made mainly to save our marriage. We totally hated each other standing over that hot sink to do dishes. Our kids were too little to get that assignment.

BTW, the Marine Corps used mechanical potato peelers. It was like a cement mixer with sharp "teeth" all around the inside. The spud tumbled around in there, with water spraying over them. In a few minutes they were peeled, and universally round. They still needed clean up, as I recall.
