It was more like a billion a week earlier in the war. $2.5bil a week out of a $2.9 tril/year or over $55bil a week budget. Don't get me wrong saving $2.5bil a week would be great. But it isn't where the big money is as far as federal spending, and it seems esp. foolish to stop now that progress is being made.
