But he had a fall-back position: saving the environment mandated more of what had failed.

I ran across an excellent description of the econuts... "Watermelons" - green on the outside and red on the inside. A new proxy for statist control and economic suicide.

The damage they cause is much more insidious than that of old discarded socialism because the greenies don't espouse an overtly explicit ideological agenda. The whole world is awash in their touchy feely hysterical propaganda, "the earth is roasting and the polar bears are drowning, yada, yada, etc.."

I've said it before and I still believe that this "global warming" drumbeat will only succeed in exacerbating the looming energy crunch, with the commensurate economic damage as a sure result. I wonder who the public will blame when gas hits 5 or 6 bucks a gallon and inflation and shortages are running sky high??
