Nice to see a criticism of Bush here that he actually clearly deserves. One could quibble over different ways of measuring big spender, but however you measure it Bush has been a big spender so there isn't much point in breaking it all down. Early on in his administration I gave a bit of a pass because of the aftermath of 9/11, and several other factors, but he kept being a big spender through most of his two terms, and the excuses have long since worn thin. What's funny though is that while he was greatly expanding spending in all sorts of areas he still got a lot of criticism from the left for not spending enough in areas he was increasing rapidly.
