#5 is sort of an ultimate objective.

"Sort of" isn't good enough, not with the sacrifice we've made and are making (human, monetary and political).

If there isn't some really good outcome, this isn't worth it. And virtually no one is predicting a really good outcome. In fact most are predicting at worst a Taliban style south or at best a strong ally of Iran.
