I suspect that regardless of whether licenses are issued to illegals or not, there will soon be federally mandated requirements for state IDs, including drivers' licenses. That information will be logged in some central database available to LEOs and others. Thus, a defacto "national ID card."

Big Brother really IS watching. <G>
