Ibexx - Re: Intel's IA64 Architecture Thanks for posting that Press Release. That Intel would make such announcement 15 months or more AHEAD of a product introduction indicates their confidence in this new architecture. With a 0.18 micron process and a ROADMAP of IA64 devices under devlopment, the foundation must be quaking at AMD's headquarters in Sunnyvale. AMD can't compete with their Heinz K6 (their "catchup" device), they are losing money and Intel is about to unload an entirely new architecture. AMD is still fighting, and losing, yesterday's battle. They don't even have time to think about the new frontal assault coming at them in the near future. By the way, there is a river in Colorado whose name you may be hearing in the next week or so.
