Ah-hah, so Blackie is the original cute and cuddly Canadian?

but what has happened to possibly thousands of cashed out money ... blown ? or hidden..

Good question. But there is no answer.

I have a suggestion. The truth lies in the fact that creditors have figured out that recently discharged debtors are wonderful sources of income.

See linked article. I am guessing that the debtors, fresh out of bankruptcy, who are being targeted by predatory lending, are ones with a long history of making minimum payments, which means that they were willing to repay the original debt many times over.

In other words, the lenders are scumbags who deliberately target schmucks. And once they're discharged, there's nothing I can do for them until the requisite waiting period has passed to refile.

I wish I could convince them to give up borrowing money from predatory lenders, but it's a free country.
