The point is that it isn't a cut overall. The bill as a whole is not one of tax relief, it keeps the overall tax burden at least as high. Yeah, so? If Bush cut income taxes 10% but your property tax or sales tax goes up, it's not a net cut. You think taxes, as a whole, went down during the Bush admin? Think again. Every tax is a penalty and a subsidy. Every variation changes that balance. The economy is in a constant state of manipulation. You pick your side.
