Many religions fuse the sexual with the sacred. Actually I really liked what I read about the Golden Compass series, and the healthy way (imo) those books look at sexuality. It seems silly (to me) to wrap sexual maturity up with sin. I can see that from a command and control perspective it's a great way to insinuate yourself in to your parishoners heads, but from a mental health perspective I don't think it's a very good thing.

Comfort with the body, and comfort with sexuality form the basis for a healthy happy life, I think. I don't know how you could be comfortable in your skin if you have big issues about your own sexuality.
