Health care expenditures are spent to improve health and the best measurement and most exact measure for that is in longevity.

I hate to make the other side's argument for them (especially since they seem to miss this), but I will.

Since so many people are not covered in this country, chances are that the people who are covered are getting better results, and the people who are not covered are dragging down the longevity numbers for the US.

I would guess that the biggest variable is health care (there are so many other variables and the numbers are so large I think they tend to cancel out on both sides)... and so many of our citizens don't get health care that if makes our overall care look worse.
