I squeaked last week out. I won 86-92. I made a last minute add/drop for Aaron Moorehead for Muhsin Muhammad. He had a dropped a big play, and Muhammad actually had a better game. I also did a last minute start of Selvin Young over Frank Gore after I heard Henry was inactive. Young came through...he is the real deal. Good thing I didn't need it. I thought Dallas Clark not playing was going to cause me to lose. If my opponent would of started Shockey over Davis, or Hackett over Engram or Curtis, the game was his. I'll take luck :)
Last weeks performances...
Ben Roethlisberger: He had a great game. 278 yds passing, 2 Pass TD, 2 Pt pass, 1 int, 49 yds rushing, and a rushing TD. He did a great job of spreading the ball around, and when nothing was there he had plenty of running room. I didn't think he could run for 30 yds.
Justin Fargas: He did a decent job. 81 yds rushing, and 23 reception yds. He did have a fumble. What concerns me is the rest of the Raider offense. Yikes...kind of like Frank Gores situation, but not quite that bad.
Selvin Young: He had a great game. He looked quick and ran with authority. 109 yds rushing, 20 reception yds, and a rushing TD. There is definitely no drop off if Henry gets suspended. Henry is supposed to meet with the NFL on Friday, with their decision the following week? I read that Henry passed the lie detector, and had a negative hair sample. The only positive test was the urine test. Shannahan basically said if he didn't pass the hair test or lie detector test he wouldn't be a Bronco. Maybe he'll beat this thing? If not Young will fill in nicely.
Ronald Curry: 20 reception yds. I put in a add/drop for him...if it happens good for me?
Brandon Marshall: 85 reception yds. I heard he got knocked out of the game with hit to the groin...ouch. I haven't read anything else about it, so I'm hoping he is ok, and returned to the game? He's been pretty solid without Walker. Walker might be back this week. I already put in an Add/drop for him.
Aaron Moorehead: He got thrown at a lot for 39 reception yds. It was raining, but I do think he should of caught more passes. I'm sure it was frustrating to Peyton.
Dallas Clark: Didn't play due to a concussion. I hope he plays this week. He practiced last week, so I'm hopeful.
Rob Bironas: He has 2 FG and a XP. If Ten wasn't coming from behind, I think he would of had another FG. He is a good kicker, I'm glad I have him.
Falcons DST: They did a decent job against Car 4th string QB. If he wasn't the 4th string QB, I probably would of chosen a different DST.
Bench...
Frank Gore: He ran well, looked quick. His line and the rest of the offense isn't executing. So they weren't able to get enough 1st downs to have a big game. Hopefully next week against STL, he'll get it going. I'm thinking STL will try to get a big lead to take Gore out of the game plan...similar to what SEA did.
Travis Henry: He was inactive. This maybe his last week...see above.
Laurence Maroney/Pats DST: Bye week.
Deion Branch: He was inactive. I was happy to see SEA throw the ball so much. If they keep it up, then he should be great down the stretch.
I put in Add/Drops for Kevin Walter(played him dropped him due to bye week fill, even with AJ coming back, he'll still be number 2. AJ should make his life easier), Javon Walker(might be back this week. If so he should produce), and Chester Taylor(AP is hurt, out for at least 1 week, I'm guessing 2+). Dropping Moorehead, Falcons DST, and Curry. We'll see what happens.
Best of Luck,
SS
edit...I picked up Walter and Walker, and dropped Falcons DST and Moorehead. Someone beat me to Taylor. 2 out of 3, I'll take it, especially since I need WR help more than RB. Although Taylor has a nice schedule coming up. |
